The Long Island Lady Riders, two-time champions of the W-League, the national soccer league for women, announced their 2004 schedule.

The schedule features three games each at the soccer stadiums of Hofstra and Stony Brook. The Lady Riders' home opener is Saturday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m., against the New York Magic at Hofstra. The Lady Riders' StonyBrook debut is Saturday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m. against archrival Boston Renegades.

"Our schedule is set up with the fans' convenience in mind," said General Manager Kim Wyant of the Lady Riders, who are entering their 11th season. "We think splitting our games between Hofstra and Stony Brook will allow the greatest number of fans to get to our games, given the size of Long Island."

The season kicks off on the road against Rhode Island on May 8. Coach Cristin Burtis is ready for the season to begin. " We will build on the success of last year. Everyone is very anxious to start this season..." Burtis said she expects a big year from the veterans on the team especially Francesca DeCristoforo who, with the first game of the season, will break the Lady Riders career games played record, passing longtime Lady Rider Dina Case with 103 games. "Michele O'Brien will be returning from an injury that kept her sidelined last season to team up with last year's leading scorer Melissa Shulman and I am very excited to see both of them working together" commented Burtis.

Wyant said that family passes and mini-passes, season passes, individual and group rates are all available as ticket options. "We are very user-friendly when it comes to ticket packages, and are a real value for a family night out," said Wyant. "Our Family Pass allows families to attend all home games and bring up to six family members or friends to each game, and costs only $125. In addition, groups that want to have special events or parties, or be ball girls, should definitely give us a call."

The full schedule is set forth below. Information about tickets, soccer training or soccer camps, or the Super Y-League program, can be obtained by calling the Lady Riders' office at 516-735-2277, or visiting www.ladyriders.com
