Nearly 800 runners and walkers successfully completed the 7th annual edition of the Lazer, Aptheker, Rosella & Yedid Kings Park 15 Kilometer Run on Sunday morning, March 21, and quite prominent among them was 28-year-old Bayville speedster Katherine Cimonetti, who took 2nd place honors among the women in the highly competitive 25-29 age group. Cimonetti crossed the finish line at the W.T. Rogers Middle School in Kings Park in 1 hour, 7 minutes, 11 seconds.
The Lazer, Aptheker, Rosella & Yedid Kings Park 15 Kilometer Run was deliberately designed to be the toughest of challenges, incorporating as many hills as possible into 9.3 miles, culminating with the final one mile climb up to the finish. As once competitor put it, "it hurts, it really hurts, but what a sense of accomplishment and pride when you cross the finish line!"
