Nearly 100 golfers recently teed off at the Developmental Disabilities Institute's (DDI) 14th Annual Golf Classic at the Pine Hollow Country Club in East Norwich, which raised a net amount of $55,000 for the organization. The annual event supports the vital programs and services that the nonprofit, multi-site facility provides to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
"We are grateful to all of our golf participants and sponsors for their steadfast support of our important programs and services," said DDI Executive Director Peter Pierri. The day kicked off with a continental breakfast starting at 9 a.m., which was followed by an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. The tournament culminated with a cocktail and dinner reception at 5 p.m.
DDI was founded in 1961 by a group of parents to address the special education and therapeutic needs of their children. DDI is a member agency of the United Way. For more information about DDI visit www.ddiinfo.org.
