Opening day took place on Saturday Sept. 11. The following are team results:

Tornadoes beat Port Washington 8-0. The Tornadoes are girls born after August 1, 1994 playing travel soccer for the Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer Club.

The team is made up of talented players that have been playing soccer since they were 5 years old they are from Oyster Bay, East Norwich and the surrounding towns.

The game was a great success for our young team, with a shut out recorded by Madison Fressle, Kristie Kelly and Bridget Jansen.

Our unbeatable defense was superb not allowing a shot on goal credit given to Gabrielle Albanese our sweeper, Julia Cranz, Bridget Jansen, Marissa Matarese and Arden Etts.

Our midfielders Erin Allen and Kristie Kelly distributed the ball perfectly to their spectacular forwards Katie O'Brien, Melissa Albanese, Erica Eisenberg and Allison Bliven.

Goals were scored by Melissa Albanese, Katie O'Brien, Erin Allen, Bridget Jansen, Erica Eisenberg and Kristie Kelly.

Congratulations Girls! Looking forward to a great season Coach Albanese.

Parents and coaches are very proud of their team win and performance.

Following the game the Tornadoes celebrated their opening day with a team get together.

Come and watch them play against Syosset at East Woods on Saturday, Sept. 18.

Avalanche win their fall season opener 5-1 over the RVC RipTide. Super team effort. Honorable mentions to Alyssa Garcia and Kat Fressle on the defensive side and Josie Bechand on her Hat Trick (3 goals). Great start to what should be a promising season.

This is team is a new team made up of girls under the age of 14. This new team showed a lot of talent and courage to play 70 minutes of soccer in the hot weather with no substitutes. They clearly outplayed their opponents, dominating the entire game but unable to finish. The Hurricanes are looking for a few good soccer players to join their team if interested, call Sal Albanese 987 9850 or e-mail to Albaneseco@aol.com.

In a well played game the OBEN Rockets outscored the Blue Knights of Port Washington by the score of 3-1. Each boy contributed to the win. forwards/midfielders, Matthew DelRosso, Luka Martinovic, Kevin Rubio, Quinn Mcquade, Stephen Ello; fullbacks: Tyler Ozkan, Jason Velasquez, Ryan Gouse, Chris Hoffman, Alec Chiappone, AJ Core; and our star goalie Keegan Petersen.

This was the first game this squad has ever played together and they performed like a seasoned team! There is a lot of work yet to be done this year as the children look forward to next week's challenge. Congratulations boys, keep up the good work. The coaches are Ozkan and DelRosso.

The Oyster Bay Eclipse opened the season against the Port Washington Blue Devils this past Saturday. The game opened with a first half goal by Cindy Maldonado of the Eclipse off a beautiful pass by Rianne Woodman. At halftime the score was even at one. In the second half the Eclipse gave up one goal and was unable to take advantage of several opportunities on the offensive end.

It was a terrific opening to the season with the team coming together as the game progressed. This team which is newly formed is looking forward to a great season.

Coach Luvchuck said that the boys played hard the entire game and will be back next week.

We played tough together as a team the whole game and didn't quit till the final whistle. More importantly, the girls had fun and were smiling at the end of the game coach Enright said.

The U-11 Mustangs played a terrific "team" game in their season opener. These Mustangs really know how to share the ball. The proof came when 6 Mustangs scored the 8 goals we had against Little Neck in our 8-2 season opening win! Our scorers included Richie Barakat and Joey Giunta with 2 goals each, and single goals by Willie Treiber, Steven Tortora, Matthew Gutierrez and Nick Gurzynski. Henry Canales and Willie Treiber were a great tag-team in goal! Shane Reilly, Nick Gurzynski and Jake Horton were a solid wall in defense, and Jasper Themelis was a one-man wrecking crew on "D!" Peri Ipiotis and Kyle Guarini moved seamlessly from defense to offense. Peter Flaskal and Scott Jones are new Mustang bullets on the field.

We added eight new Mustangs to our six veteran Mustangs and we see a strong and fun season ahead!

Goals were scored by Monique Kelly, Addie Reilly, Maria Moreno and Alex Venuto. Molly Kirkpatrick was once again outstanding in goal. The defense of Lex Pillari, Nicole Podpirka, Courtney Collins and Katie Bonilla was rock solid, rejecting all Bellmore's attackers. The middle of the field was controlled by Kelsey Todd, Maddie Howes, Rebecca Orlich contesting all loose balls and starting all advances.

Stephanie Chakiryan, Jocelyn Cisternas and Brooke Bliven were major contributors at attackers.
