How Well Do You Know the Area? Do you know where this week's picture was taken? If you do, call the Enterprise-Pilot at 747-8282 and let us know. If you have a picture that you think might be interesting for others to guess, drop it off in our box at Pleasant Valley Gallery & Gifts, 101 South Street, Oyster Bay.

Billy Minicozzi called and guessed, "The mystery picture (in the Sept. 23 issue) is a pop up tent on an estate." On a sports note, he said the Long Island Ducks are in the playoffs. Hopefully they will win their series. He added that the Bayville Haunted House is under way. He noted that summer has ended and fall has begun.
We received an e-mail from Harold Flower that we didn't open until late Monday afternoon on Sept. 20, after the mystery picture was finished. He said of the Sept. 16 mystery picture, "could it be the private cemetery on Sandy Hill Road and East Main Street in the Cove? The light doesn't look right unless it was before noon. It could also be the one in Pine Hollow. It's a long while since I have been to either place. Good luck to whomever solves this one. Sincerely Harold Flower from Deerfield Beach, Florida."
"I'll venture to guess it was taken at Young's Cemetery. Things are going well in new Suffolk County home!" said Woody Ryder, former Oyster Bay Historical Society president. (This was a good guess from the type of headstone, but was wrong.)
"I believe but could be wrong, but the picture is of a small cemetery around Ships Point Lane on the way to Oyster Bay Cove but I do not know the name," said Ralph Ceglia, a former resident now living in California.
