The Beach Cleanup Blues
The annual local beach cleanup took place last weekend, although not as scheduled. Caroline DuBois said the annual Beach Cleanup, originally scheduled for Sept. 18 was cancelled due to the weather conditions created locally by the remains of Hurricane Ivan. "The wind was blowing so hard, there was debris flying through the air and there was lightning," said Ms. DuBois.

Kyle Rabin, New FOB Director
Kyle Rabin, the new executive director of Friends of the Bay was out meeting members on Sunday, Sept. 19 at their fund-raising barbecue. Held at the Seawanhaka Yacht Club the event was a great family event and children had a great time taking turns on the great amusements offered.

Ashleigh Tate to Row in Boston
Ashleigh Tate of Oyster Bay will be among the 7,000 athletes rowing in the 40th annual Head Of The Charles Regatta (HOCR) on Oct. 23 and 24. They will row among top athletes, including Olympic medal winners from across the US and 27 countries. Ms. Tate is the US Rowing National Junior Women's Single Champion.

Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island Annual Golf Event Huge Success
The Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island held its 17th annual golf tournament on Monday, Aug. 30. The event took place at the beautiful Mill River Club in Upper Brookville. Robert A. Karson, US Trust Company, chair of the event, reported that over $100,000 was raised.
