The WaterFront Center is hosting the annual Oyster Festival on the weekend of Oct. 16 and 17. Over the years they have welcomed various tall ship sailing vessels and this year, the Gazela-Philadelphia is returning to the festival. FULL STORY

Catch the excitement of the 21st annual Oyster Festival as you eat your way along the waterfront, supporting your favorite charities. This year on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17, (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) there will be non-profits selling great food to benefit veterans, seniors, railroading, Rotary, Lions, Baymen, Legionnaires, VFW; soccer, basketball and football teams, civic groups, firefighters, the Boys & Girls Club, Hispanic culture, boy scouts, girl scouts, and the chamber of commerce. It is also supporting the outreach of the Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome Network as well as a fund-raiser for our "Poster Bay" Matthew Fetzer of Bayville fighting his second bout with leukemia. His supporters are the North Oyster Bay Baymen's Association and they will be selling steamed lobsters to benefit the boy. He has successfully won a battle against one type of leukemia and is battling a second type. FULL STORY

The fall soccer season is on their third week of play with the fourteen teams competing weekly throughout Long Island. FULL STORY

The Sagamore Yacht Club of Oyster Bay will host two courses offered by the Oyster Bay Power Squadron. These courses are open to the public. Membership in either organization is not required. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your boating skills and also learn more about membership at the yacht club and/or the Power Squadron. FULL STORY
