We're hoping to see you at the Oyster Festival that is scheduled this year for October 16 and 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Supervisor's 5K race begins on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. this year. For the past month people have been sending us e-mails asking for the dates. We tell people it is always the weekend after Columbus Day. Then we tell them the current year's dates and we always add the suggestion, come by LIRR.

That is the way we've gone to the festival the past few years. The train takes you right into the festival area and parking at other railroad stations is allowed on the weekends.

Let's hope for great weather. For the food vendors that means cool and brisk so everyone wants to eat to keep warm. It's going to be a great big wonderful festival spread out on the waterfront and in the village. It will give visitors a wonderful picture of the sweet town.
