The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 2205 will be offering boating classes in October and November. All classes are conveniently located at the Waterfront Center, 1 West End Avenue, Oyster Bay (entrance left of Roosevelt Beach). The following classes will be given by experienced Auxiliary instructors:
Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S)-first of six in-depth classes starts Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m.
America's Boating Course-1 (ABC)-a one-day course, Saturday, Nov. 6, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Topics covered include navigation, knot tying, navigational aids, radio communication, the "rules of the water" and more. Certificates issued same day! Course fee is $50.
The ABC course satisfies New York State requirements for all operators of Personal Watercraft. Many insurance carriers offer discounts upon completion of these courses. Visa/MasterCard/Amex accepted.
