The Education & Assistance Corporation held the first EAC Scholarship Challenge Cup at the exclusive Deepdale Golf Club in Manhasset. All proceeds from this outing will support a new initiative for the agency, the Chance to Advance Scholarship Fund. This fund has been established to give children in foster care the opportunity to continue their education beyond high school.

The initial gift to create the endowment for the Chance to Advance Scholarship Fund has been given by the Doreen Downs Miller Foundation. Other supporters include AmeriCorp, Inc.; Bethpage Federal Credit Union; BWD Group, LLC; Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP; Law Offices of James O'Brien; Marsh, USA/Phil Westerman; Newsday; North Fork Bank; PDK Labs, Inc.; Roslyn Savings Foundation; and Charles Walsh.
