Daniel T. Bonavito, 83, of Astoria, died on Nov. 23, 2004. He was a WWII veteran. Brother of the late Peter J. (Eleanor of Bayville). Uncle of Joseph (Lorrie), Bill (Diane) and the late Peter. Also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews. Interment service with military honors at Calverton National Cemetery under the direction of the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove.

Theresa Scarry, of Inwood, formerly of Oyster Bay, died recently. Daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude. Sister of the late Thomas J. Scarry Jr., Trudy (Steve) Phillips, Kathy McCauley, Dottie (Frank) Melillo, Mary Ann (Ray) Starke. Aunt of Claire, Michael (Kate) and Stephanie Phillips, Frank, George, Keith (Kareen) and Ryan McCauley, Brian Starke, Frank (Lisa) and Chris (Lucia) Melillo. Niece of Catherine, Jim and Ann Scarry. Also survived by 10 great-nieces and nephews and her friend Billy Jessen. Arrangements were made by the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.

Mary C. Doherty Ebbets died on Nov. 16, 2004. Born in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Josephine B. (Ahearn) Doherty. She was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and Albany State Teachers College. An educator for most of her life, she was a teacher at the Greenvale School in Westbury for many years. A former resident of Oyster Bay, she was a member of the Literacy Volunteers, the National Racing Museum, St. Clement's RC Church and the Historical Society of Saratoga Springs. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, M. Helen Doherty, who died on Jan. 14, 1967. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, J. Russell Ebbets; two sons, J. Russell Ebbets Jr. of Union Springs, NY, and John E. Ebbets (Patty Masure); two grandchildren, Logan Mary Ebbets and Keegan Ebbets; and a daughter-in-law, Jan McCoy Ebbets, all of Hatfield, MA. Arrangements were made by the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clement's Church. Burial in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Florence Ligos, 86, of East Norwich, died on Nov. 29, 2004. Wife of the late Joseph. Aunt of Joseph Ligos. Also survived by many relatives and friends. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
