We add our concern about the proposed development of the Mill Creek Marina site and AvalonBay Communities to this fragile ecosystem. Take a look at the map of the Oyster Bay National Wildlife Refuge. It defines the area of the refuge which includes Mill Creek.

This week's stories on AvalonBay and the Mill Creek Marina show the vulnerability of the Oyster Bay Harbor to development. The north shore of Long Island has presently more open space than the rest of Nassau County. It is one of the reasons we presently have a pristine Oyster Bay Harbor. It is why we need to all consider the importance of protecting that harbor - it is the heartbeat of the Oyster Bay/Cold Spring Harbor area.

Make your voices heard, only you can speak up to protect this wonderful part of Oyster Bay.
