The Oyster Bay High School Girls Varsity Volleyball team defeats East Rockaway High School to become the Nassau County Class C champions.

Oyster Bay defeated Carle Place in the semifinal round. Volleyball teams in Nassau County are ranked to compete by ability. As such, Oyster Bay High School, a Class C school, found its Girls Volleyball team competing during the regular season against Class A and AA teams. Schools are classed by size with 'A' being the largest. The bigger the district, the larger the talent pool from which to create teams. It is quite an accomplishment for a Class C school to compete with the Class A and AA schools.

The girls were led by Coach Dawn Cerrone and assisted by Coach Erin Eagan and Manager Maria Barbaccia. Ali Dando, Anja Hermann and Cindy Navarro were team captains.

OB-EN Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics John Piropato said, "The girls worked extremely hard and were rewarded for their effort. We are very proud of the accomplishment of the team and their coaches."
