Rough Rider Lacrosse's winter season got off to a great start with the boys 7th/8th grade team last week. The Rough Riders had a decisive win over the Garden City Titans, 23-6. The Riders, coached by Joe Rogers, Bob Cook and Frank Caponi, played an amazing first half led by goalie Sam La Branche. The team got off to a quick 3-0 lead with goals by Spencer Colwin and Will Burke. Spencer went on to have a double "hat trick," six goals.

Overall play by J.B. Townsend, Frankie Caponi and Connor Knox was fast paced and always on the attack. Blake Martin's attack was dominating to say the least. The defense, with excellent play by John Hambrook, kept the Titan's at bay. The group worked well as a team with the core players from Rough Rider's initial spring and ssummer season as well as integrating new players for the winter season.

The Rough Riders boys 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th/6th grade teams will start their season in early December. All games are played at the Point Set Raquet Club in Oceanside.
