Seven Locust Valley High School student-athletic leaders recently attended a conference to celebrate and encourage positive student leadership throughout Nassau County.

The fifth annual Student Athletes as School Leaders: Leadership On and Off the Field, sponsored by the Nassau County High School Principal's Association, provided students, athletic directors, coaches and administrators with opportunities to share ideas about the significance of leadership, participate in keynote addresses and speak with counterparts from other districts.

Students were chosen to participate in the conference through essay submission and were asked to plan and initiate activities that will have a positive impact on their school community.
