Every runner who will be participating in the 2008 RexCorp Long Island Marathon Festival of Races is cordially invited to join a special clinic being held on Tuesday, April 29, in the auditorium of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, 999 Old Country Road in Plainview, starting at 8 p.m. Admission is absolutely free and everyone is welcome.
The clinic, which has been a feature of the Long Island Marathon and Half Marathon for nearly two decades, is a perfect last-minute primer, not only for first or second-time marathoners and half marathoners, but for everyone who is looking for some last minute help on how to run a little bit faster and feel a little bit better in the marathon or half marathon.
The clinic is co-sponsored by the RexCorp Long Island Marathon, the Greater Long Island Running Club, and the Long Island Association of USA Track & Field.
The distinguished panel of experts who will be on hand at the Clinic to answer every possible question about participation in the event are:
* Alex Cuozzo, coach of the Bellmore Striders and past winner of the Long Island Marathon.
* Kathy Agricola, veteran of 65 marathons.
* Paul Fetscher, past director and winner of the Long Island Marathon.
* Dr. Edward Fryman, DPM, medical director of the Long Island Marathon.
* John Hanc, writer for Newsday, Runner's World, author of The Essential Marathoner.
No advance registration is necessary. For more information call Mike or Linda at the Greater Long Island Running Club office at 349-7646.
