For the first time ever, the Bayville Little League had a parade to celebrate opening day, Saturday, April 5. The route started at Soundside Beach at 10 a.m. and proceeded to Bayville Avenue to the Commons. Attendees then convened at West Harbor Fields for free food and drink. Everyone enjoyed watching the home-run hitting contests, fastest base runner, and other competitions geared for attendees of all ages.

Attending were NYS Senator Carl Marcelino, Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Beth Faughnan and Bayville Mayor Victoria Siegel as well as Maria Marciano, president of the LV High School Parents Council; Suzanne Sgueglia, vice president of the LV board of education; Superintendent Richard Hirt; Incoming Superintendent Dr. Anna Hunderfund; new Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics Mark Dantuono; and BOE President Dr. Yao Chu and, of course, the Bayville Little League board, coaches and kids.
