John Robert Andersen II, 60, of Fort Myers FL, former longtime resident of Oyster Bay, died on Nov. 28, 2009. He was a retired longtime employee of the Town of Oyster Bay and former member of CSEA Local #881 and Atlantic Steamer Fire Department. Husband of Victoria. Son of Marion and the late John Robert. Father of John Robert III, James G. (Janet). Grandfather of Andrew Charles and Rylee Bridget. Brother of Aina Gentile, Carin Andersen-Perez and Carl. Brother in-law of Susan (Dan) Halstead. Carmine M. Fasano, DDS, of East Norwich, died on Nov. 27, 2009. A graduate of Harvard University and Columbia University Dental School, he was a practicing dentist in East Norwich for 40 years. Joseph A. McLaughlin Jr., formerly of Oyster Bay and Locust Valley, died on Oct. 29, 2009 at the age of 89. Born in Brooklyn on Dec. 23, 1921, to Joseph A. and Helen (nee Burgtorf) McLaughlin. He was a graduate of Georgetown University and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a first lieutenant and was awarded the Bronze Star for his valor in Normandy on D-Day. He was the husband of the late Nancy Power McLaughlin.
During his career, he was a corporate executive at Nabisco, Borden and for Mobil Oil. Joe was a dedicated volunteer for the past 20 years at the Red Cross, Mrs. Jones Attic and at the North Shore INN soup kitchen in Glen Cove.
