Norman A. Youngs, 90, lifelong resident of Oyster Bay/Syosset, died on Dec. 10, 2010. Beloved husband of 64 years to Dorothy. Loving father of Norman (Janice), Diane Ernest and Walter (Lynn). Proud grandfather of six and great-grandfather of two. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends. He was a devoted member of Oyster Bay Fire Company #1 and past Master of the Matinecock Masonic Lodge, member of the American Legion Quentin Roosevelt Post #4 and WWII veteran. Dear stepfather of Thomas (Kristen), John (Lee Ann) and Michele. Pop-Pop of Cheyenne, Timmons, Gavin, Austin and Michael. Dear brother of Judy, Gerry (Richard) and Richard (Lynn). He was a former member of the ASFC # 1 and the Mill River Rod Club, member of the Oyster Bay Volunteer and Exempts Fireman’s Benevolent Association and former Post Man in Oyster Bay. A memorial service will be held on Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church, Northern Blvd. East Norwich.

Carl Bernard Larsen

Carl Bernard Larsen, a proud veteran of World War II, extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on October 8, 2010 in Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 85.

He grew up in Queens, lived for over 30 years in Bayville, a decade in Basye Virginia, and finally in Annapolis, Maryland home of the U.S. Naval Academy.

Sixty years ago he married the love of his life, Margaret Morris. His son Carl B. Larsen (Tulinda) now resides in Annapolis and his daughter Kim Larsen (Jim Etkin) now resides in Brooklyn. He was the treasured grandfather of Bryce Larsen, Jenny Larsen, and Abe Etkin. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Waterman First Class aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard in the Pacific Ocean and was a member of the Fleet Reserve, Annapolis.
