The problem with information is that it may be out there, but you sometimes really have to work hard to find it.

The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Board of Education members determined last year that they would vote on the salary increase of the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant for Curriculum, and the Assistant for Business at the July 7, 2009 re-organization meeting – after the school budget vote had passed.

Mystery Picture Remains a Mystery

Billy Minicozzi said the Mystery Picture in the Jan. 28 issue of the Enterprise Pilot was the Town of Oyster Bay 9/11 sign in Oyster Bay. That is not correct. [On a sports note he said the last time the Jets won the Superbowl was in 1969. The Mets won that year too and what was interesting is that they both won while playing in Shea Stadium. He said there was no Giants stadium in 1969. The Jets beat the Colts that year he said.]

Mystery Picture Remains a Mystery

“It is a small sailing ship by the boardwalk on Shore Road by the traffic light,” said Billy Minicozzi of the Jan. 21 mystery picture in the Enterprise Pilot. (It’s not quite right though.) As for the Jets, he said he hoped they go to the Super Bowl. The last time they won was 1959. “It has been almost 40 years,” said Billy Minicozzi. Unfortunately, the Jets lost to the Colts.

She wrote, “On Jan. 25, 1990 , through a series of tragic miscommunications and human error, Avianca Flight 052 crashed in Cove Neck…killing 73 people, (passengers and crew).

Rosemary Colvin Knows Oyster Bay

Rosemary Colvin called and identified the Jan. 14 mystery picture in the Enterprise Pilot. She said, “I recognize the mystery picture. It’s Christ Church on East Main Street. The windows face East Main Street. and the Hispanic Cultural Center has space donated by them and I see that view all the time.” Ms. Colvin is on the HCC board.

Letter: The Real Problem With Taxes

(The following letter was sent to Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and is printed at the request of the writer.)

OK, County Executive Mangano won on a “tax revolt vote” that he was going to reduce assessments - however, what he didn’t say during the campaign was that he couldn’t control the tax rate.

John Ranaldo Knows Oyster Bay

John Ranaldo of East Norwich recognized the mystery picture in the Dec. 31 issue of the Enterprise Pilot. “It’s the Mill Neck trestle. The one they just replaced. I can tell by looking at the picture. You can see the road below and the woods.”
