Editorial: Marino Field: Proposed and Completed ‘FOR’ and ‘BY’ this OB-EN Community

Written by Rob Brusca, Oyster Bay Friday, 16 April 2010 00:00

Oyster Bay-East Norwich is a great community. But I am not particularly objective- having been born into this community more years ago than I now care to remember(!). What I have routinely seen over that time is that we do not generally ask for much, which I think speaks to the tremendous quality of the people who live and do business here - modest and relying more on the “do it yourself” attribute that drives this community.

Editorials grow by themselves. Some topic or other produces a response that is personal, not objective, and deserves a mention. This is not to say that this writer is correct – just that is it an opinion. We are sure you have yours and that is what the letters to the editor are for.

Here’s a bee to put into your bonnet. If East Norwich had fields to offer to the mix in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District, there might not be this problem of needing fields.

Just think about that for a few moments...

Written by D.F. Karppi Friday, 19 March 2010 00:00

It is a great credit to the Oyster Bay-East Norwich school community in that they truly support the district through their fundraising efforts. Last weekend we had a great time at the 10th annual Taste of the Gold Coast gala. The event is run by the Oyster Bay High School Parent Teacher Student Association and is a marvelous evening out with friends. The gala supports the arts in the schools.
