Billy Minicozzi correctly identified the photograph in the Dec. 1 issue of the Enterprise Pilot as two horses near the gazebo in Oyster Bay. On a sports note, he was happy the basketball strike is over; and that the Jets won over the weekend.
The photograph was of Karolina Zameka’s beautiful white horses pulling a carriage on Audrey Avenue, heading toward the Derby-Hall bandstand (A.K.A. gazebo). You can see Ms. Zameka and her horses this weekend as she takes part in the Holiday Express events at the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum at 102 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay. The rides are free.
Last weekend, the Bayville Fire Department held a holiday weekend and a stately gentleman with a black top hat drove a carriage around the village. There was a good-sized line of folks waiting for the treat.
Santa was also in attendance. By the time this reporter got there, Santa was gone – he was off to his next scheduled appearance. It turns out Santa has a very busy schedule before Christmas, just as he has Christmas Night. No wonder he only appears during the holiday season!
