Local athletes of every age and level of ability are invited to participate in the special Clinic that is being offered in connection with the 2009 Runner’s Edge-TOBAY Triathlon. The clinic will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m., at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, 999 Old Country Road in Plainview.
Although it is geared toward those who are planning on competing in the August 30 Runner’s Edge-TOBAY Triathlon, the clinic is open to everyone, and would be of great benefit to anyone planning on doing any multisport event this year. The clinic is free of charge, and no advance registration is necessary.
The clinic will be led by coach Jose Lopez and the Long Island Tri Coach staff.
Coach Lopez is a Level II USA Triathlon Coach with 25 years of experience in competing and coaching. He has been the overall winner of several triathlons and duathlons, including the first TOBAY Tri in 1988. He is the head coach of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training, and is the president of Long Island Tri Coach, Racing Unlimited, Inc. and Power Spin, Inc.
“This is a perfect opportunity for first time triathletes, for second time triathletes who want to build on their initial experience, and for anyone else who wants to maximize their performance,” observed coach Lopez.
