  • News: Four Boaters Saved in a Daring Rescue On Manhasset Bay

    In a tale worthy of Charles Dickens, two veteran members of the Manhasset Bay boating community braved the weather and turbulent waters of Manhasset Bay to rescue four hunters whose duck boat overturned in 10 feet of water off the Manorhaven shore. While rescue workers came from near and far, it was the prompt immediate actions of two brave men that averted what could have been a major holiday tragedy. FULL STORY

  • Sports: On The Bay

    There was no frostbiting on Sunday, Dec. 22, due to the holiday. Sailors will have a lot of opportunity to sail over the New Years weekend at the 90th Annual New Year's Frostbite Regatta. The regatta is only two days this year, beginning on Sunday, Dec. 29, with the final day of sailing on New Year's Day. The Past Commodore's Race will be held on the morning of Jan. 1, getting these stalwarts out early after a night of celebration. Fleet racing for Lasers, IC Dinghies and Penguins will commence after lunch. At the conclusion of racing, the traditional Wassail Bowl and Annual Meeting, plus awards will take place at Manhasset Bay YC. Results next week. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Lady Vikings Bound for Disney World

    The Lady Vikings have opened up their season with a 2-1 record and went to Disney World in Orlando, FL over the holiday break. The team competed in the KSA Holiday Tournament Dec. 26-30. FULL STORY
