In the article that appeared in the Jan. 30 issue on Port North's waterfront, there were some omissions which I trust you can print in this week's issue.
I mentioned to Ms. Nixon that I wanted to recognize, with plaques, those individuals who have contributed to the waterfront project. They are:
Tom Imperatore and Rick Weber for designing the Bay Walk, and
Ross Altman, former trustee, whose contributions are numerous. Ross and I went out on his boat twice to evaluate the property from the water side. Additionally, Ross was invaluable in our negotiations with Lewis Oil.
Also, David Berg of Cameron Engineering who worked with Palma Torrisi and me, to secure the village $165,000 in grant money. State Senator Mike Balboni was also instrumental in getting this $165,000 for the engineering work on the waterfront.
Cablevision donating all the landscaping for the former Fearon Marine property.
Palma Torrisi designed the park for the Fearon Marine property.
Assemblyman Tom DiNapoli got the village $125,000 in grant money for the waterfront.
Supervisor May Newburger is working on getting the village the town property which abuts the Fearon Marine property.
Again, my heartfelt thanks to these and the many other concerned citizens who made this dream of ours a reality.
