This past season, Weber's Seventh Grade Boys Lacrosse Coach Don Zuvich worked with a small roster of 16 players; some experienced and others fairly new to the game. Although always outnumbered in players and most times outsized, this team was rarely out-hustled even as the game entered the crucial 4th quarter.

Early on in the season, led by the veteran players, the team won its first two games. The team started to gel just as the "tough" part of the schedule approached. Perennial lacrosse powerhouses, Garden City and Manhasset had both team size and talent that proved just a little too much for our group of gritty boys as the game went into the third and fourth quarters. They quickly forgot those losses and played a very closely played and competitive game against Locust Valley that was lost in the last minute by the score of 5-4.

Now at the halfway point in the season, one thing was certain, all of the players were contributing, determined, and above all not the least bit discouraged. The team ended the season on a convincing five game win streak against teams from Syosset and North Shore School Districts, highlighted by a dominating 5 - 0 shutout in the final game. As they walked off the "Pit" for the last time this season with a 7 - 3 record, one could sense that the players didn't want the season to end. They had matured and improved as players and more importantly as a team. The team knew they had and will continue to close the gap with the top lacrosse schools and distinguish themselves even further on the field next season.

The attack men consisted of: Ryan Castro, Rich Imperatore, Matt Mohr and Evan Rucigay. The midfielders were Justin Almazan, John Froccaro, James Lopilato, Andrew Marback, Jake Most, Zac Ross, and Jake Zack. On defense: Chris Boccio, Ryan Calenda, Alex Caruso, Steven Kaufman and in goal: Mike Widmer.
