Helen Keller National Center Honors Job Providers
A lively group of staff, students, guide dogs, and representatives of corporations and community organizations gathered at The Helen Keller National Center (HKNC) in Sands Point to recognize the efforts of local employers who have hired students enrolled in HKNC's vocational program. The Work Providers Breakfast was held in conjunction with Deaf-Blind Awareness Week and Helen Keller's 123rd birthday.

Harry Potter Comes to Port
The new Harry Potter book release on Saturday, June 21 was big news everywhere and no less so in Port. The Port post office took some innovative steps in satisfying a mail order contract for the timely delivery of the new book and, at the same time, offered many Port residents some fond memories of the unique delivery of this blockbuster novel.

Dave Pelz Short Game Clinic at the Long Island Classic
Instructors of the renowned Dave Pelz Scoring Game School will host two different instructional clinics at the Long Island Classic Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Red Course at Eisenhower Park. The short game clinics will take place on the Putting Green at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Each session will last one hour and is free to all tournament attendees and pro-am participants.
