After my first year of college, I have come back to Port Washington for the summer to notice a difference in the town. While, sitting at Dunkin' Donuts and looking out at Main Street, I realized that our "main street" is filled with a significant amount of litter. You know, the general stuff that's left over from a purchase, like a wrapper, napkin, or bottle, etc. The point is, it's everywhere. Maybe it is the lack of garbage cans that makes the street look like an appealing place for garbage. Perhaps the addition of garbage cans would ease up the problem. For a task with such small effort for each person involved, the results would be completely noticeable. Everyone should keep in mind how beautiful our town is and what it takes to keep it that way is an endeavor by all citizens of Port Washington.
