As of this date you have given us, American Legion Post 509 of Port Washington, the honor and privilege of retiring over 1,000 American flags. Thanks to the Henderson-Marino Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1819 of Port Washington, the Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co. #1, the Port Washington Fire Department, the Port Washington Police Department, the Port Washington Water District, the Polish-American Cultural Association, the Bergman family, our Gold Star parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Zwerlein and the hundreds of anonymous residents for having enough respect for "Old Glory," to ensure its proper and honorable retirement.

Bob Click, program chairman

Arthur George, commander
