"It must be election time, because Congressman Gary Ackerman came out of his congressional lair. As is his habit around this time, Gary fired off a bunch of vitriolic missives to an audience in Great Neck, as reported in the Aug. 31 issue of Port News. Some examples... "This administration sabotaged the Constitution." Hey Gary, the previous administration defiled the Oval Office with Monica, while Osama Bin Laden was planning to kill over 3,000 of our citizens! "This is our most serious war, the domestic war against our constitution... I'm concerned about the state of our democracy." You should be, congressman, if your party sneaks into the House and the Senate! "We are now a border-line state to every terror organization and we must learn to protect ourselves and deal with the world as it really is." How about closing the borders, Gary, and not giving the illegals driving licenses as you suggested a while ago, so that they could enroll in flying schools? Eh? Now comes the pièce de rèsistance... "We must find a sensible time that we can get out (of Iraq) as quickly as we can without doing more damage than Saddam Hussein has done." What a despicable statement that is, comparing the ultimate sacrifices that our men and women are making in Iraq and elsewhere, to the butcher of Baghdad, their mission being to protect the freedom for the likes of Gary Ackerman to make this outrageous statement. He owes an irrefutable apology to every member of our armed forces! And finally... "There is no clear end in sight. Oh yes, Gary, there is. It is the day when you will no longer be in Congress. That day can't come soon enough!"
