Schreiber HS Memorial Garden Dedication Ceremony
On Oct. 3, a dedication ceremony was held at Schreiber HS in Port Washington for a new Memorial Garden, located near the main entrance to Schreiber, adjacent to the school cafeteria. This Memorial Garden is "In Memory of All High School Graduates of Port Washington School District Who Have Passed Away But Who will Always Be in Our Hearts."

Norton Is Off to the States
Kristin Norton, a sophmore at Schreiber High School is on her way to compete in The New York State Girls Tennis Championships, on Nov. 4 and 5 in upstate New York. Kristin earned her spot in the tournament by taking third place in the singles competition at the Nassau County Championships held the first week in October. "It was a grueling, long day," said Kristin, as she had to play four matches against the toughest and strongest players in the county. The day ended with three wins and one loss. She breezed through her matches against East Meadow and Friends Academy. Her match against Cold Spring Harbor went to three sets. After dropping the first set to Lauren Rottkamp, 1-6, Kristen found her game and took the next two sets, 6-2, 6-2. Her only loss was to Anna Edelman from Great Neck North who was the no. 1 seed and took first place in the tournament. The top three singles players and the top three doubles teams earn the privilege to compete at the state level.
