The Manorhaven Family Street Festival will be held on Saturday Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The fair will feature activities geared to children and adults including games, face painting, food and booths selling a variety of merchandise.
Manorhaven Boulevard will be closed to traffic between Dunwood Road and Firwood Road.
This year the trustees are encouraging young entrepreneurs, students in middle school and high school, to take a booth at the fair to sell a product or service.
The trustees and the mayor are trying to promote the hands on teaching of economics and civics. These students, under the guidance of parents and teachers, will set up and run their own booths at the festival introducing new products, arts and crafts or healthy snacks. The students should gear their booths to the many children who will be in attendance enjoying clowns, “bouncys,” balloon artistry and more. The mayor and the board hope this opportunity will make the festival not only fun but a valuable learning tool for students
Any student who is interested in being part of this Manorhaven family Festival Young Entrepreneurs Program should contact Sharon Natalie the Village’s Deputy Clerk at 516-883-7000 ext 10 to register.
The fair will continue in the tradition of the community celebrating its many attributes, especially its residents.
