Albertson Astros' head coach Al Delia will be heading to the legendary home of baseball, Cooperstown, NY, on Aug. 1. Our hometown team will be representing Albertson-Herricks in an invitational tournament at Cooperstown Dreams Park where they will compete against other teams from across the country. In addition to playing in the tournament, the members of the Albertson Astros will be enshrined in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Cooperstown Dreams Park experience will include more than baseball as it will be a cultural and life enriching experience for the members of the team. Players will have the chance to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame, like the heroes of the game before them. Share hometown stories with kids from all 50 states, and fulfill a childhood dream by being immortalized in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.
Cooperstown Dreams Park is hosting weekly tournaments open to 12-year-old and under baseball players on a nationwide basis. Forty (40+) teams a week will be selected to play at Cooperstown Dreams Park in the weeks of June 20 through Sept. 5. Teams will come in pursuit of every player and coach's dream - to play in the Crown Jewel of Youth Baseball and to be inducted into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.
Teams will spend seven days and six nights in the Baseball Village clubhouses and eat three meals daily in the Team Dining Hall. Teams will arrive on Saturday and depart the following Friday. Each team will be seeded in the Dream Series and will be guaranteed at least seven games. Every team will participate in the Home Run Derby, Base Running and Throwing Competition.
