Jerry Brondfield, Roslyn Resident and Author, Dies
Longtime Roslyn resident Jerome Brondfield, 84, died swiftly and unexpectedly in November, 1998. His life was characterized by love of work and a keen sense of community responsibility. His first assignment after graduating from The Ohio State University School of Journalism in 1936 was to cover the Berlin Olympics where he sat in full view of Adolph Hitler.

Residents Oppose Subdivision Plans
Peachtree Inc., a Where?-based construction company is seeking a permit from the Town of North Hempstead to do subdivision work on a lot at 16 Donaldson Place in Roslyn Heights. Bruce W. Migatz, the company's attorney, said the land in question consists of one home and "two irregularly shaped lots, with one lot having insufficient plot area."
