  • NEWS: More Applause for Tax Cut

    Local politicians rushed to applaud the repeal of New York City's commuter tax on suburbanites who live in places like Nassau County and towns like Roslyn, but go to work each day in the city. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: New Permit and License Fees

    Fees for permits and licenses on both commercial and residential construction in the Village of Roslyn have undergone some changes. The Board of Trustees has approved a local law and "necessary resolutions" setting new fees for the coming fiscal year. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Spring Scholar/Athlete Teams

    The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has been sponsoring the Scholar/Athlete Team Award Program since 1991. To earn a team award, a certain required number of varsity athletes in each varsity sport must have their season's report card averages combined for a team average. If that average is 90 percent or greater, the NYSPHSAA declares the team a state scholar/athlete team. Each athlete on a scholar/athlete team who has an average of 3.3 or higher receives a NYSPHSAA scholar/athlete award pin. Dr. Mira Martincich, Roslyn's athletic director, is pleased and proud that two of our Spring Varsity teams received the award this season.   • SPORTS: RHS Spring Sports Awards

    On June 8, Roslyn High School held their annual Spring Sports Awards Program where 232 different high school athletes on 13 spring teams were honored. The student athletes were presented with Freshman, Junior Varsity and First Year Varsity Letters, and Second, Third and Fourth Year Varsity Plaques. According to Dr. Mira Martincich, Director of Physical Education, Interscholastic Athletics & Recreation, the girls' badminton team celebrated its 7th consecutive Nassau County Championship, and Roslyn enjoyed the best girls' track season they ever had. The boys' volleyball, girls' softball and boys' tennis teams made it to play-offs. Nearly half of the athletes were honored as Scholar-Athletes, and nine seniors earned special recognition as 12-season athletes.
