Local Golden Gloves Hopefuls
As the March 9 date of the final round of the Golden Gloves preliminaries at Glen Cove High School nears, the Glen Cove Police Boxing Club is a busy place. Some 400 young men and women from Glen Cove and the surrounding communities use the boxing facility under the careful guidance of head coach Frank Pena assisted by Rob Richardson and Tito Soto. To date the Golden Gloves hopefuls are Shawn Davis, 220 lbs. super heavy weight and Pete Figueroa, 165 lbs. middle weight.

LI Edge Wins Hockey Tournament
Roslyn resident Cory Sigadel (#8) joins the celebration of the Long Island Edge winning the Dollars for Scholars Squirt Hockey tournament in Freeport recently. The Edge, who play out of Port Washington, will be representing Long Island in the New York state championship playoffs in Syracuse, March 10-12.
