The North Shore Environmental Alliance, Inc., and the Village of Sea Cliff have filed an Article 78 lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court over what they term as the lack of a full environmental impact study on the proposed ferry operation from Glen Cove to the Foxwoods gambling casino near New London, CT.

LIE Construction Under Way">LIE Construction Under Way
Long Island Expressway expansion construction has come to the Roslyn area. This past week, construction firms hired by the state began work on expanding the LIE service road on exit 37 that runs into East Hills. According to personnel on the scene, the work is going to last several months, possibly into October. The job entails widening the service road and building a retaining wall, also.

North Shore HS Sports Update
On Jan. 30, the North Shore Vikings Boys Winter Track Team placed third in their conference with a combined score of 78 points. Brian Greig placed first in both the 55m high hurdles with a time of 7.8 seconds, and the 600m race with a time of 1:29.1. Paul Johnson placed first in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 2 inches. Lastly, the 4 x 400m relay team of David Calzone, Steve Smirti, Mark Dellavecchia and Brian Greig, placed first with a time of 3:55. Also scoring at the meet was Mike Weiner who placed third in the shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 5-1/4 inches.
