Congress Approves Land Transfer
Calling it a "great day for East Hills," Mayor Michael R. Koblenz, along with U.S. Representative Gary Ackerman (D.-Queens-L.I.), announced that the U.S. House and Senate have approved the transfer of the Roslyn Air National Guard Station from the U.S. Air Force to the Village of East Hills. All that is left to do is some paperwork before the 50-acre site is in the village's hands. Rep. Ackerman said that such work should be completed by the end of September.

'Celebration of Music' from Trinity Choir
The choir at Trinity Episcopal Church in Roslyn has recently recorded and released a CD, "With a Voice of Singing." Including 31 songs and running up to 74 minutes in total playing time, the CD consists of traditional Christian hymns and songs. It also features performances by a multi-generational handbell choir, and the children's choir.

Booster Basketball Champs
The Roslyn fifth grade boys Booster Basketball team recently completed an undefeated season. The boys won all 12 games and were the champions for the fifth grade league. The head coach was Scott Galin and the assistant coach was Jeff Siskind.

Liberties Edge Lions 5-4
On a cold Tuesday evening the entire Liberties team contributed to a come from behind victory over the Lions. For the first three innings the Liberties were held scoreless with only two base runners - Neil Bass who worked out a walk in the second inning, and Jason Wilson who singled and stole two bases in the third inning.
