For weeks, organizers of a gala Roslyn High School reunion, scheduled to take place at Roslyn Pond Park, had no idea exactly how many alumni from all over the country would turn up at the event. However, all of them were pretty sure there would be a large turnout, possibly one exceeding expectations. Organizers also knew that the weather forecast called for a 60 percent chance of rain. The weekend of Oct. 6 and 7 will usher in the Herricks Homecoming version of the Olympics this year. The weekend's festivities will begin with the usual pep rally and then take to the various fields and courts where the athletes will show their skills. Friday afternoon's events include girls' tennis, soccer and volleyball games. Sunday morning will see the boys' soccer game and in the afternoon the boys' football team will be playing. FULL STORY
