Trustees Spar Over Appointments
A routine Village Hall meeting held last Tuesday night was briefly interrupted by a disagreement over appointment decisions to the Historic District Board. At the meeting, appointees to both the HDB and the Zoning Board of Appeals were duly sworn in. They included Marta Genovese as chairman of the HDB and Wayne Marr as chairman of the ZBA and Michael Dorsky as a member of that board.

Construction Approval for Senior Facility
Forest City Daly, the firm that has long hoped to build a senior housing facility in downtown Roslyn, reached a major milestone in its quest recently when the Historic District Board approved the start of full-fledged construction work for the project.

Little League Appoints New Officers
Roslyn Little League has announced a new slate of officers and directors for the 2000-2001 season. Dennis Floam has been elected to the post of president of Roslyn Little League. Mr. Floam has been actively involved in Roslyn Little League for the past 10 years and previously held the position of treasurer. A 16-year resident of the community, Mr. Floam, along with his wife Kim and children Allison, Samantha and Scott, reside in Roslyn Estates. Mr. Floam has been actively involved in community affairs, previously serving on the board of trustees of Roslyn Estates and the Bryant Library.
