Long Farewell for Citizen Galante
The Helen Glannon Room of the Bryant Library was packed last Tuesday night as the Village of Roslyn held its organizational night meeting. But the evening's events were dominated by a farewell ceremony to outgoing Mayor Janet Galante, who was there to officially hand over the keys of the village to incoming Mayor John Durkin.

Building Survey Planned
In an evening dominated by farewell ceremonies for former Mayor Janet Galante, the Village of Roslyn board of trustees did hold a brief meeting. At a January meeting, a major source of contention was the possible construction of an elevator in the Village Hall, located at 1200 Old Northern Blvd. The meeting was attended by advocates for various people with disability groups, all of whom contended that the lack of proper accommodations for disabled people in the village is a violation of both state and federal law.

Beavers Edge Red Sox 2-0
In the Roslyn Little League Major's division, the Beavers, on Pinpoint pitching from starter David Bayer and closer Alex Litt edged out the Red Sox 2-0. Each pitched three innings striking out a total of seven Red Sox batters allowing only two hits by Cole Charnas and Jake Hirsch. The Beavers were matched however by the combined pitching of Michael Haut, Ben Lomazow and Zach Stern.
