Construction Complaints in Roslyn Harbor
Another Roslyn-area business recovering from a major fire is Baron Nissan on Glen Cove Road in Roslyn Harbor. On Jan. 1, 2000, the unofficial date of the new millennium, the dealership was devastated by a fire that destroyed the entire building. Baron Nissan executives spent the next six months dealing with insurance policies and renovation plans. Finally, in December 2000, nearly one year after the fire, the car dealership was back on its feet, open again for business.

No Parking Decision Until September
The Davis Lane parking situation was up again for discussion at the July 17 Village of Roslyn board of trustees meeting. For now, the village plans to keep the current policy in place, one that allows for some limited parking on Davis Lane. At the September meeting, the BOT will decide to extend or terminate that policy.

TONH Offers Rowing Classes
Beginning on August 6 the Town of North Hempstead will continue its very popular rowing course that started in June. Anyone interested in registering for either the youth program that includes 14 to 17 year-olds or adults of 18 years and beyond should contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 327-3140 before August 1. The cost for the youth program will be $150 per participant for the week. The adult program is $200 per participant for the week.
