Langone Memorial Plaque Unveiled
There is a notable new addition to the Roslyn Rescue firehouse on Mineola Avenue. A handsome memorial plaque, flanked by two eternal lights now stands as a tribute to Thomas and Peter Langone, the two Roslyn Rescue members who perished in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack at the World Trade Center.

Dodd Selected as Golden Apple Award Recipient
Roslyn High School Physical Education teacher Catherine Dodd was selected as a March of Dimes Golden Apple Award recipient for the year 2002. This award pays tribute to Long Island educators who have touched students and community, beyond that expected of a teacher. According to March of Dimes Senior Community Director Janet Reddy, the Golden Apple Award honorees have not only made a difference in the field of education, but have also devoted a considerable amount of their own time to help and assist others in a variety of ways.
