  • News: Roslyn BOT Approves New Budget

    At their most recent public meeting, the Village of Roslyn board of trustees approved the 2003-2004 budget. Total general fund appropriations come to $3.9 million, an increase over last year's total of $2.5 million. In addition, real estate taxes amount to $2.4 million. The new tax rate is $20.14365, a slight increase over the 2002/2003 rate of $19.36619. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Schettino Named Coach of the Year22

    Anthony Schettino, technology teacher at the Green Vale School in Old Brookville, was just named Rookie Coach of the Year for Section VIII H.S. Wrestling. He's coached at the Schreiber High School in Port Washington for the last 12 years and has been head coach for the past two years. His team went 18-4 this season and for the second year in a row, was named Nassau County Conference Champs. Anthony coached 11 All-Conference wrestlers and his team won the New York State Scholar Athlete Team Award. FULL STORY
