New NS Assistant Superintendent
Robert Chlebicki has assumed the duties of North Shore Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, effective this month. He comes to the district from Rye Brook, where he had been principal of the Blind Brook Middle/High School since 1997. In that position, he exhibited leadership qualities in the areas of curriculum and staff development and instituted new programs such as science research and community service.

More Waterfront Enhancement Advice
At its July meeting, the Village of Roslyn board of trustees took action on a Waterfront Enhancement Strategy. The BOT accepted such a strategy as prepared by Saratoga Associates as the "initial concepts" of the development of the waterfront.

Golfing 'Fore' Children September 15
The R. Brinkley Smithers Invitational benefiting The Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence's (LICADD) education and prevention programs for children will be held on Monday, Sept. 15. LICADD's prestigious Community Service Award will be presented to this year's honoree, former New York Islander and NHL Hall of Famer Clark Gillies for his efforts on behalf of LICADD and children's charities.

The Goodwill Ambassadors are currently accepting applications for high school teams, club teams and individual high school age volleyball players in the USA and Canada to participate in the Goodwill Ambassadors Volleyball exchange to Europe in July, 2004.
