Officials React to Tassone Arrest
Dr. Frank A. Tassone, the former superintendent of the Roslyn School District, pleaded not guilty to charges of first degree, grand larceny. Dr. Tassone entered his plea on Tuesday, July 6 at his arraignment at First District Court in Hempstead. He was later released on a $50,000 bond. The grand larceny charges are a Class B Felony and punishable by up to 25 years in prison.

Scottish Games at Old Westbury
On Saturday, Aug. 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Old Westbury Gardens and the Long Island Scottish Clan MacDuff will host one of the Garden's most popular events. Scottish Games is a day filled with Scottish dance and music performances, competitive highland games of manly strength (caber toss, putting the stone, tossing the sheaf), cultural and historical displays, clan genealogy information, individual and pipe band competitions, children's activities, agility dog and other animal demonstrations, and traditional Scottish wares, crafts and foods.
