Library Budget Wins Community Approval
Recently, voters in the Roslyn School District approved a revised budget for the 2004-2005 school year. On Wednesday, July 28, those same voters approved the Bryant Library's 2004/2005 Operating Budget. The vote, which was held at the library, was 732 in favor to 397 in opposition. In both instances, the first vote on the school and library budgets had been defeated.

Tennis Tournament of Shelter Rock
Winners of their fourth trophy at Shelter Rock's "A" Doubles Tournament were Judson Ain (Roslyn) and Todd Pines (Manhattan). They edged Ira Friedman (Merrick) and Jamie Zucker (Oceanside) in a closely fought 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 match. In the semi-finals, they defeated Bobby Saltz (Roslyn) and Fred Blumenfeld (Manhasset Hills) by 6-3, 6-4.

The Wheatley School Varsity Softball Team
Under the leadership of head coach Stephen Heilbrunn, The Wheatley School Varsity Softball team enjoyed a most successful and memorable season. After completing the regular season with a record of 11 wins and 5 losses and finishing in 4th place in its division, the Lady Wildcats brought their "A" game to the playoffs. Three of the regular season losses were by one run, including two games in which we were shutout by identical 1-0 scores. Wheatley scored a total of 120 runs during the regular season while holding opponents to 31 runs.
