How the Roslyn School Scandal Happened
The long-anticipated "report of examination" of the Roslyn School District's embezzlement scandal has been published. Entitled "Roslyn Union Free School District: Anatomy of a Scandal," the report, issued by the office of State Comptroller Alan Hevesi, covers the time period from Jan. 1, 1996 to June 14, 2004 in an effort to uncover the depth of the scandal and how it happened.

Swim Training for Pre-Teens and Teens
Sid Jacobson JCC is offering swim training for teens and preteens 10-16 years through the spring with Coach Bill Catania. This is an endurance-based workout geared for swimmers who are able to swim two laps continuously. Participants do not need previous swim team experience. You may attend as many sessions as you want. The class meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 7 - 8 p.m. and Sunday, 4 - 5 p.m. from April 11 - June 9. The fee is $350 for non-members and $250 for JCC members. Stacey Lee, a ninth-grade student at The Wheatley School, won the Eastern Designated Closed Tennis Tournament, which was held at the Alley Pond Tennis Center on March 11 - 13. Prior to the match, which Stacey won 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, she had been ranked fourth in the East by the United States Tennis Association in the 16-and-under class. Based on the latest victory, she is now ranked second in the east. Nationally, Stacey is one of the top 100 ranked female tennis players in the 16-and-under class.
