Tilles Center for the Performing Arts' 14th annual Swing for Kids Golf and Tennis Tournament, to be held on Monday, June 13 at Meadow Brook Club in Jericho and The Creek in Locust Valley, will honor The Fay J. Lindner Foundation, Robert M. Goldberg, the Foundation's president and Norman A. Schefer, a director of the Foundation. All funds raised at Swing for Kids benefit Arts Education programs at Tilles Center. As a result of these successful tournaments, Tilles Center has been able to regularly expand its services to Long Island's school districts and school children.
Peter Tilles of Mill Neck is the general and founding chairman of Swing for Kids. Ron Horowitz of Birchwood Associates is chairing the sponsorship committee. Paul Kaplan of North Hills Office Services and Tony Sacco of Wachovia Securities chair the golf committee. Robert Beer of Birchwood Associates, Marcello Lattuca of Kirlin Securities and Ilyssa Lipton of the Righter Corporation head the tennis committee. The raffle/auction committee is chaired by Susan Luss of bfi.
The Fay J. Lindner Foundation was established in 1970 and is particularly supportive of organizations in the fields of health, the arts and floriculture.
"Through funds raised at Swing for Kids we have been able to continue to inspire the children of Long Island with a professional arts education program," said Peter Tilles. "Each year, we gain greater support from the corporate community. Our many new friends are helping us to be even more successful in introducing children to the arts and promoting our cultural heritage to Long Island's schoolchildren."
