Elizabeth L. Crum, widow of Lt. Commander Paul M. Crum, USMMA, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2005, at the Elizabeth House Hospice in Flat Rock, NC. Formerly of Kerrville, TX, and Roslyn Heights, Elizabeth, also known as Betty, moved to North Carolina last November two weeks before her 95th birthday to be near family. She and her husband retired to Kerrville where they lived for almost 10 years. She is survived by a sister, Virginia Gibson of Colorado Springs, CO, a brother, Alfred E. Lounsbury (Elizabeth) of Excelsior, MN, five children, Marcia Hackett of Tustin, CA, Beverly Butor (Melvin) of Madison, WI, Elizabeth Ehrier (Noel) of Douglaston, Paul M. Crum Jr. (Melanie) of Etowah, NC, and Perry Carson of Karlstein, Germany; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Originally from Superior, WI, Elizabeth attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN, where she met her future husband Paul whom she married after both were graduated. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June 1986 in Roslyn.

A memorial service is planned for later in the year in Roslyn where the deceased lived for almost 50 years. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Elizabeth Crum's name to the Roslyn Presbyterian Church, East Broadway, Roslyn, NY, or the Four Seasons & Palliative Care Hospice, Elizabeth House, 581 S.
